Lovely boathouse oil on canvas by Maine artist Gene Klebe (1907-2009)

This is a lovely and vibrant oil painting by the Maine artist, Gene Klebe. Charles Eugene Klebe was born in Pennsylvania and attended the Philadelphia College of Art, but he spent most of his life in Maine painting the landscape of that state's coast. The depiction of a Maine boathouse is a classic Maine coastal scene, and the perspective shown in the painting creates the impression that the boathouse is part of the rocky coast that is Maine. Nicely framed in a complementary wood frame.
